Beautiful sunny day.

Drove back up to Logan Pass in Glacier National Park to take pictures with the early morning light from the east.

Then went back east to St. Mary, Montana, north on US 89 to Babb, Montana, west back into the Park at Many Glacier.

Saw two Grizzly Bears on the slope above the highway near the Many Glacier Hotel.

Took a 9.5 mile round trip 1200' gain day hike to Iceberg Lake.

Saw three Grizzly Bears on the slope well above the trail near the start.

Iceberg Lake had a LOT of icebergs in it - probably due to the heavy winter.

Saw seven Mountain Goats on the slopes above the lake and apparently a black bear (didn't seem to have the grizzly "hump") crossing the snow on one side of the lake.

Lots of beautiful flowers and friendly ground squirrels.

Even had a butterfly land on my hand and not want to leave.

Transferred it off to another person and it flew back to me.

Drove east out of Glacier National Park, then north on US 89 and MT 17 into Canada.

Chief Mountain along the way is very impressive as it sticks up all by itself.

Drove up Red Rock Canyon road and did the short loop hike at Red Rock Canyon - interesting geology.

Returned to the main area of Waterton and drove out to Cameron Lake, a pretty area, then back to Waterton town, had an ice cream and headed back to the U.S.

Continued south on US 89 and MT 49 then into Glacier National Park again at Two Medicine where I camped for the night.

The lakes around here are all HUGE complete with whitecaps in the wind.

Headed south on MT 49 to East Glacier, MT where the early visitors arrived by train and then traveled by horse back into the Park using Chalet's built (I think) by the railroad.

Continued west on US 2 to Whitefish, MT, then south to Kalispell, MT for a motel.

Boy, do I need a bath!
