Cuyamaca Rancho State Park - Arroyo Seco

On May 5, 1963 in appears that I hiked four miles round trip to Arroyo Seco in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park on the Cuyamaca Peak trail. Several routes can be followed to the top of 6,515' Cuyamaca Peak. One starts from the Hual-cu-cuish Boy Scout Camp (which has been destroyed by fire), one from Paso Picacho State Park Campground, one from Green Valley Falls State Park Campground.

The usual route is from Paso Picacho where you follow the paved road which leads to the Fire Tower on the peak. This tower can be climbed and used as a view point, sometimes enjoying a visit with the person on watch during the fire season.
