8,846' Tahquitz Peak is in the San Jacinto Wilderness and is the site of the highest fire lookout in the San Bernardino National Forext which you can visit in season. Several trails may be used but the most popular route is to go up the Devil's Slide Trail to the saddle, then on the ridge trail to the peak, returning via Tahquitz Meadow to the saddle and back down the Devil's Slide Trail.
The Devil's Slide Trail is one of the most popular hikes in the San Jacinto area with incredible scenery and views. More information here which includes a printable map and here and here
