On July 27, 1975 I took an 8 mile round trip day hike on the Mt. Whitney Trail to Mirror Lake. I left Whitney Portal about 8:45 and hiked up to Lone Pine Lake, arriving about 10:30. Hiked around to the lower side and sunbathed for an hour, then watched some Scouts swimming and messing around on a bunch of large logs. Hiked up to Mirror Lake and enjoyed the scenery for a while - talked to people along the trail. Left about 3 p.m. and headed down to the car arriving around 4:30 I think. Nice day hike.
